How to Connect to CA-FDRS
What Do I Need?:
CA-FDRS is a Web application and requires that you have the following:
1. An Internet connection
2. A Web browser from the list below
3. Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.01 or later (free)
4. HP 2420 LaserJet or equivalent

An Internet Connection :
CA-FDRS is an Internet application and requires users to be connected to the Internet in order to access the application. The application has been designed to be usable even in low-bandwidth connections such as low-speed modem connections (28,800 baud); however, it is recommended that you use high-bandwith connections (DSL, T1, cable modem).
To use CA-FDRS, you must be connected to the Internet and have the following software applications already installed on your computer:
- A Web browser supported by CA-FDRS (see chart below). Adobe Acrobat Reader - a free downloaded from Adobe Software (http://www.adobe.com).
Configuring Your Web Browser:
Enable Pop-ups: CA-FDRS users pop-up search/navigation browsers to allow users to search for medical certifiers, funeral homes, and other information. Many web browsers today allow you to block pop-ups. You or your computer administrator may have also installed software that disables pop-ups. If this is the case, you will need to enable pop-ups on your computer in order to optimally use CA-FDRS.

Windows 2000/XP or higher
- Internet Explorer 8.0 or later
Mac OS X
Use of other browsers and operating system combinations may work but are not guaranteed to work correctly.
A modern laser printer is required for any official documents intended for
local registration. An example would be the HP 2420 LaserJet printer.
Note: an inkjet printer, of any type, will not be allowed by the Local Registrar
for any official documents.
